Workshops
Auditions can be scary and challenging, but they don’t have to be!
In the Musical Audition Prep Workshops, students will learn how to choose an appropriate song for their voice and specific audition. They will also learn vocal tips to sound their best and strengthen their voices, as well as using blocking and choreography to enhance their chances of being selected for roles. Additionally, students will learn tips on how to avoid debilitating anxiety related to auditions. Finally, students will get a chance to practice what they’ve learned through a “mock audition” to develop their own confidence and experience in auditioning.
Two sessions, Monday, July 22 – Friday, July 26, are available:
- Grades 3-5, 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. Admission fee $50 (15 participants total)
- Grades 6-12, 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. Admission fee $75 (20 participants total)
Students should dress comfortably, wear closed-toe shoes, and bring water. For the Youth session, students should bring a 30-45 second audition piece of music. Please plan to arrive early to drop off students, and pick them up promptly at the end of the workshop. Parents are encouraged to attend the Friday class to see the mock auditions.
Workshop Admission and Registration is open until 5:00 p.m. on Friday July 19. Each participant must purchase admission and register for the workshop.
