Ennis Public Theatre

Ennis Public Theatre (EPT) is dedicated to use our talents to create an environment of artistic integrity in producing the highest quality live theatre as we entertain, educate, encourage and inspire.

In a spirit of benevolence, excellence and integrity, Ennis Public Theatre will use our talents and the collective talents of those who serve with us to produce the highest quality live intimate theatre possible. To create an environment that will foster growth and achievement for performers. To be a destination for many who would experience a stream of artistic life and vitality that will ENTERTAIN, EDUCATE, ENCOURAGE and INSPIRE.

EPT moved into its beautiful historic downtown space in January 2017 where there is a wide variety of restaurants and shops to enhance your entertainment experience.

Our Story

Ennis Public Theatre began as the dream of a husband and wife who had a vision for bringing theatre to an underserved area and developing a cultural center. Ennis Public Theatre became a 501c3 organization in 2004 and continues to enrich many lives today.

Our Approach

Community drives our theatre. We like to think that we’re different because we truly believe in giving as many people as possible a chance to showcase their talent, gain skills and knowledge, and learn about the performing arts. If you have an interest, we want to work with you.

Scholarships

We believe in nurturing the talents of tomorrow’s artists. Annually, we offer a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior from Ellis County who has participated at Ennis Public Theatre, either onstage or backstage, to use for college or university.
