Ennis Public Theatre is proud to bring some of the best productions to Ellis County. 

We love your children and have two shows a year that are suitable for children under 5 and lap babies to attend – our Summer Musical and our Christmas show. Please check the individual show ratings below for content and age-appropriateness.

The longest running off-Broadway revue in history has been updated for the realities of 21st Century relationships.  This celebration of the mating game plays out through hilarious sketches and songs. From dating, to marriage, to surviving newborns, to starting all over again at an advanced age, this show pays tribute to those who have fallen on their face at the portal of romance, and gotten back up to enter the fray again.

RUMORS

At a large, fancy townhouse, the Deputy Mayor of New York, Ken Gorman, is hosting a dinner party with his wife.  The only problem is that Ken has been injured by a gunshot, his wife has left, there’s no food, and Ken has instructed two trusted friends to carry on as though nothing is amiss.  As the confusions and miscommunications mount among the evening’s guests, the event spins off into classic farcical hilarity.

AN EVENING OF CULTURE: FAITH COUNTY II

The local community theater is producing Romeo and Juliet with a very mature actress playing Juliet and a guy named Bubba taking on Romeo. Even though the cast members don’t quite have their lines memorized and the set isn’t exactly finished, this earnest and optimistic cast and crew are gonna give it a go!

KILLER HALLOWEEN

It’s Halloween in the small Midwestern town of Shudderville, where on each of the preceding seven Halloweens one or more teenagers has been killed in a really icky way. The killer remains at large. Undaunted, high schooler Anna and her friends make big plans for a fabulous party and a concert with a boy band. If you’re a fan of comedy-horror films like Halloween, Friday the 13th, and Scream, you’re going to enjoy a real killer Halloween!

THE 24 DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS

This year is a stressful one for Vicky Austin as she’s cast as the youngest angel in the Christmas Pageant. Plus the family is preparing for the birth of a new brother or sister. What will happen to Christmas this year? Filled with elves, carols, and laughter this timeless adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s The 24 Days Before Christmas is sure to bring a smile to your face and a tear to your eye.
